About the Practice

Care that's
rooted in understanding
and experience.

Umbrella Mental Health was built from fixing a problem I've seen firsthand too many times; people being treated before they're fully understood. My goal is to slow that process down — to listen carefully, make sense of what's been affecting your life, and create care that feels clear, honest, and responsive to your needs.

Guiding Philosophy

Real care doesn't begin with answers. It begins with questions.

Psychiatric care only works when the clinician actually understands you for who you are. That requires time, careful listening, and a willingness to sit with complexity rather than defaulting to the nearest available diagnosis.

Every evaluation is different because every person's story is unique. I approach each case with curiosity and respect in order to comprehensively understand what you've been experiencing, what might have been missed, and what questions still need to be asked. The goal isn't to rush toward a label — it's to understand you clearly enough to help build the right plan.

Once I have a clear picture, I'll explain it. In plain language. What the diagnosis means for you, what the evidence says about treatment, what the options are, and what to expect. The mind is complex and often full of uncertainty — the least I can do is be clear, honest, and realistic about what to expect.

I have years of clinical experience across both acute inpatient and outpatient mental health environments, working with individuals who are struggling with anxiety, depression, mood instability, focus, and emotional distress. These experiences have taught me that effective psychiatric care is more than simply identifying and treating symptoms — it requires understanding context, recognizing risk, asking the right questions, and building a treatment plan that fits the person in front of me, not just their "condition". This background continues to shape my work to this day: with patience, curiosity, and honesty.

My firm belief is that our emotions exist to tell us important information about our environments, experiences, and relationships. While we can't always control the feelings we feel or the thoughts we think, what we can do is create space between who we are and what we experience. If your mood, anxiety, or thoughts have been causing you difficulty, I'd love to work with you and create more spaces to pause... ... ... and allow us the choice to respond with compassion and awareness.

Important: Umbrella Mental Health is not equipped to handle psychiatric emergencies. If you are in crisis, please call 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline) or go to your nearest emergency room.
