About the Practice

Psychiatry that takes
the work seriously.

Umbrella Mental Health was built around a simple belief: everybody deserves a provider who takes the time to slow down, to listen, and to understand and accept them for who they are — not just a quick visit and a prescription.

Guiding Philosophy

Real care doesn't begin with answers. It begins with questions.

Psychiatric care only works when the clinician actually understands who you are. That requires time, careful listening, and a willingness to sit with complexity rather than default to the nearest available diagnosis.

I treat every evaluation as its own case. I don't rush the history. I don't reach for the most common explanation. I ask the questions that need to be asked, even the uncomfortable ones, because a correct diagnosis matters more than a quick one.

Once I have a clear picture, I'll explain it. In plain language. What the diagnosis means for you, what the evidence says about treatment, what the options are, and what to expect. The mind is complex and often full of uncertainty — the least I can do is be clear, honest, and realistic about what to expect.

Telehealth is what makes all of this more accessible. There's no commute, no waiting room, and no barrier to consistent follow-up. Being genuinely heard by a provider — not just assessed — is what makes good psychiatric care possible.
